Maryland State Highway
Administration (MDSHA)
directs and oversees the
planning, construction
and operation of
Maryland's highway
system. MDSHA falls
under the direction of
the Transportation
Secretary, Maryland
Department of
Transportation. It is
funded by a common
funding source,
Maryland's
Transportation Trust
Fund. The
Transportation Trust
Fund is separate from
the state's general fund
with its revenues
dedicated to operating
Maryland's
transportation network.
MDSHA’s mission is to
efficiently provide
mobility for our
customers through a
safe, well-maintained
and attractive highway
system that enhances
Maryland’s communities,
economy and environment.
